A. ACT! is designed for individuals, sales professionals and sales teams of up to 10 users who share data. The database is based on Microsoft SQL Express and has a maximum limit of 2GB. The use of SQL Express allows the system to be deployed without the need for a server. ACT! Premium for Workgroups is for sales teams, small business and corporate workgroups who require greater scalability with additional administration and security features. In this version the SQL database has no restrictions on size and needs to be placed on a Microsoft Windows 2003 or Small Business Server.
Q. Do I have to buy each user a license of ACT! 2007 even if they are sharing the same machine?
A. Yes, each named user in a database must have a unique license number.
