ACT! by Sage 2010 Workspace
ACT! Welcome Homepage
ACT! by Sage 2010 has a Welcome Homepage screen that is security aware, which means that it will hide certain options if the user that has logged into ACT! doesn't have the rights to perform those actions. It is also context sensitive, so certain options will be hidden if you are not actually logged into an ACT! database.
Some Welcome Homepage options will launch user friendly wizards where as other options launch online help or video tutorials for ACT!. The Welcome Homepage also provides easier and quicker access to some of the commands that are also located in the regular ACT! menus.
As a service Business Cohesion can customise ACT!'s Welcome Homepage to display other current content. The Welcome Homepage will always be displayed if the ACT! programme is open, but no database has been opened. In addition users can choose in their preferences if they want it always to be displayed at start-up.
ACT! Navigation Toolbar
ACT! by Sage 2010 has a clutter free toolbar that is available at all times at the top of the screen, providing qick access to all of the most commonly used actions in one easy access area.
ACT! Navigation Pane
The Navigation Pane located to the left hand side is fully collapsible. When collapsed it opens up the rest of the interface and can be useful to users that have low screen resolutions.
The Navigation Pane is split into three sections. At the top, the Lookup panel gives easy accessibility to the execution of a Lookup. A Lookup allows you to perform a search for contacts based on defined search criteria.
Below this is the Related Tasks panel, which gives a one click series of actions that can be executed. Both the Lookup and Related Tasks panels are context driven. Which means that the Lookup fields that are visible will be based on the entity that the user is currently working within. Similarly, the tasks available will reflect the current context of the user.
The final section contains icons for the most frequently accessed ACT! features. Even when collapsed these sections of the Navigation Pane are still fully accessible through shortcut icons. This stacked toolbar has a look and feel that is common across the Sage 50 product family and can be resized. Resizing will hide or reveal the buttons as necessary.
